Department of Information Management
The Department of Information Management was established in 2001.  It strives to train students into elite with knowledge of modern information management who labor for the sake of economic development in Taiwan. We aim to provide human-oriented education and make our students capable of independent thinking, creativity, communication, language, and a vision of global competition.

Departmental Characteristics
The features of this department are as follows:
1. Provides theoretical and practical training in e-enterprise and knowledge management in accordance with the need of the industry
2. Invites industrial experts to give seminars and conferences in conjunction with academic activities
3. Provides integrated curriculum along with various project modules to make students capable of handling realistic industrial problems
4. Integrates outside resources to help students acquire international professional certificates to increase their competitiveness

Curriculum
The curriculum of this department is divided into three major modules: database management module, program coding module, and e-Business module. The features of the Department’s curriculum are as follows:
1. Database management, web site planning and management
2. Information management, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and e-enterprise
3. Intellectual Property Right (IPR) strategy, patent mapping and competitive advantage
4. Customer relationship management, supply chain modeling and management
5. Data mining, decision making and trade-off based on modeling simulation and artificial intelligence
6. Fundamental training in literature, language, business management, and mathematics

Faculty:
Our teaching team includes 22 faculty members. All come from prestigious academies, with expertise in various domains.

Research Activities:
Teaching activities emphasize both technology and management. Moreover, research projects are focused on e-enterprise and enterprise intelligence management to match the needs of modern enterprises around the world.

Laboratory Facilities:
In order to accomplish teaching and research activities, the Department has established three laboratories, with two additional laboratories planned:
1. Digital learning Laboratory
2. Java Technology Laboratory
3. e-Business Laboratory
4. Information security and management security Laboratory

These laboratories have personal computers, Linux Server System, Windows Server System, MS SQL Server System, Web Server System, IBM WebSphere Portal Professional, Network Management System, Wireless Network Management System, Knowledge Management System, Customer Relationship Management (CRM) System, and Enterprise Intelligence System. Computers in all laboratories are networked to reach other computers around the world through the internet.
